We all get depressed at one time or another. When you're down and out, it's hard to get back up again. We need all the help we can get. Get your spirits soaring high again. Here are 20 ways to beat the blues!

1-go for a walk

2-exercise (helps release endorphins and gives you a feeling of wellbeing)

3-dance (same effect as exercise, but more fun!)

4-listen to uplifting music (the wrong kind of music can get you down)

5-get a make over

6-get a massage

7-get a hug, give a hug!

8-help others (getting our minds off of our problems, and helping someone else, makes us feel better)

9-pray

10-pick some fresh flowers, get back to nature, it's soothing, relaxing and exhillarating

11-get in the sun

12-laugh! read jokes, go see a comedian

13-don't watch the news, it's too depressing

14-think positively

15-count your blessings, (literally, write them down on paper, look around you at those less fortunate, then realize how much you have to be thankful for)

16-decrease your caffiene and sugar intake

17-get some fresh air

18-bright lights(studies show that darkness and dim lighting can contribute to depression)

19-get with your friends (being alone can be depressing)

20-eat right, get plenty of rest, (take the herbal supplement, St. John's Wart)
